The key to fashion trends is taking what's currently trending and incorporating them in a way that's true to our own style. By injecting trendier pieces with the pre-existing pieces that's already part of your wardrobe makes for a more effortless look. This look is the perfect hybrid between my personal style, which can be best defined as "casual-chic" and mixing in edgier pieces for a "polished punk" ensemble. I like to mix-and-match 1-2 statement pieces with simple and classic never-go-out-of-style staples for a more balanced look.
When I saw the Keske Backpack and the Digossi Boots from Call It Spring, I knew I had to have them both. I'm a sucker for anything that's black, anything that's gold and everything that's both. The gold studded backpack is a great alternative to the cross body bags that I'm always carrying because it holds twice as much and keeps my hands free at the same time. And the ankle booties make for the perfect addition to my already massive ankle bootie collection. I have nothing like it, given that its made of a grey wool-like material and features a black chain detail. The chunky heel provides additional height in a way that's still comfortable enough to rock (get it?) all day long.
Given that these 2 pieces are edgy, I stuck with a darker color palette of blacks and greys to allow my accessories to own the spotlight. A classic black v-neck tee and a pair of dark grey cut-off shorts to keep things casual, and a black blazer adds a touch of polish to finish off the look.
