DENIM FOR DAYS

Los Angeles is my hometown and I love it for so many different reasons. I love that even though I've lived here for 20+ years, there are always new places to discover and old gems to rediscover. I love LA for its casual street style, abundance of sunshine and non-temperamental weather (for the most part). I love that denim is a huge part of the LA culture and jeans are an acceptable dress code for just about any place, any time. This is why I can be seen wearing jeans 90% of the time. When I love the fit of a jean, I fall hard, become obsessed and can't stop wearing it. Thank goodness I'm not like this when it comes to relationships with anything other than clothing.

Being a fan of Old navy because of their on-trend styles and accessible approach to fashion, I was excited to give their new and innovative denim collection a try. Wearing full-length jeans during the summer may be intimidating, but thankfully with Old Navy's movement technology, the jeans are breathable, comfortable, and of course, stylish. I instantly gravitated towards the Rockstar style because of its super skinny fit and contouring stretch. They fit me like a glove, are available in a million different washes and comes in 3 rises: low, mid, and high. I chosoe a light blue wash for the summer with destructed detailing at the knee.

The rest of Old Navy's summer styles pair perfectly with their denim collection so it was easy for me to complete the look. I've been into experimenting this season and having fun with my wardrobe. Although I usually stick to solids, I've made a cautious effort to integrate more prints this season. Old Navy's explorer collection was perfect because it features fun, paisley prints in feminine and flattering silhouettes.

During the day, I wore a navy printed peplum swing cami and sandals for a casual afternoon at the newly-opened Platform in Culver City. If you love wearing black like I do, give navy a try as it's less harsh for a daytime look. In the evening, I changed into the same tank top, but in black, and paired it with a printed tweed blazer that I'm obsessed with.

These looks are so versatile, not only from day to night, but also from season to season. I can't wait to transition into fall and wear denim for... well, literally days on end.
