According to the calendar, fall officially kicked off a month ago, but here in LA, it was only this week where temperatures have started to cool off. Now that it's officially, officially started, I can finally wear things other than shorts, dresses, and tank tops. It was time to do a little shopping and sprinkle in a few key pieces to my wardrobe. I always turn to Zappos for my online shopping because they just make everything so, so, so easy! Not only do they carry all of the brands I love (hello Joe's Jeans and Steve Madden), but they offer super-fast (and free!) shipping, amazing customer service and a 365-day return policy in case something doesn't work out.

Two key items that I had on my shopping list were jeans and shoes. I live in denim 90% of the time and am always looking for my next go-to pair. I have all the basic styles covered (light/medium/dark washes, blacks and greys, distressed, skinny, ankle, etc.), so I'm looking for styles that set themselves apart from the rest of my collection. The Joe's Jeans Wasteland Ankle in Jerri caught my eye right away because I fell in love with the Jerri wash, a perfect dark denim with hand sanding that gives the new jeans a vintage look. It has a high rise which I've recently been loving and allows me to wear my summer crop tops without showing any skin. Also, I love the slit detail on the hem. Plus, the Wasteland Ankle is part of Joe's Flawless Collection. The collection features a body conscious fabric that provides a flattering fit, holds you in and smooths you out, all while allowing effortless movement throughout the day.

Because of the ankle slit detail, I wanted shoes that will draw attention to it. There's nothing that will do the job better than a pair of fun, metallic heels, like the Infinity by Steve Madden. Gold is one of my favorite colors in general and a favorite to wear for fall and through the holidays. It looks amazing and really pops against dark denim. The slip-on, peep-toe style is classic enough for every day wear and the chunky heel is comfortable enough for all day wear.

What pieces will you be adding to your wardrobe this fall? Please do share!
