As part of my life goal to visit all 50 states before age 50, I set out on an East Coast road trip at the end of last year. The route? I flew from LA to NYC to meet/pick up one of my best friends, Stacey, and together we ventured south to Miami. To avoid unpredictable weather/road conditions (we planned the trip back in September), we cut out a good chunk of the driving through snow-prone states and took the midnight (3AM, actually) Amtrak down to Richmond, VA.
Notice anything different? A makeover was wayyyyyyy overdue. Given the amount of hours that I had spent giving this site a much-needed facelift, it has also motivated me to update more regularly. Can't let the hard work go to waste. And what better way to celebrate the new look than with a photo diary from my recent trip to Havana, Cuba.
My love for Hawaii runs deep. It's difficult for me to put into words why I love it so much. I admire the culture, the stunning scenery, delicious food, slow pace of life and all of the memories that I've made on the various islands. Simply put, I'm just filled with pure happiness whenever I'm there.
October is my favorite month because it's my birthday month. And every birthday, I like to pack my bags and skip town. This year, my girlfriends and I chose Hawaii as our destination for some fun in the sun. We decided on the Big Island since none of us had been to this particular island of Hawaii before.
I tend to stick with hotel properties that I'm familiar with when it comes to traveling. It was a no brainer to stay at the newly opened JW Marriott since I recently stayed at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa a few months ago and was blown away on all levels.
Inspired by the HP x360 Behind the Scenes video, my gal pal Melanee and I decided to take a spontaneous trip to San Diego for Memorial Day weekend. Not only are we great friends, but we thrive off each other's creativity which lends itself to the perfect collaboration.
For as many times as I've been to San Francisco, I've never felt like I've truly explored the city properly until my most recent visit last month. With my fellow explorer, Cindy, we set out to peruse the Bay Area with an itinerary that differs from your normal/typical tourist destinations.
This brings me to the last post of my cross-country ice cream road trip that took place last October. The road trip adventure(s) was one of my fondest memories of 2014 and will be difficult to top, but I'm looking forward to traveling and seeing more of the United States.
Fall in New England is a magical time, unlike anything that I've experienced in LA. From Nashville, we flew up to Boston and made our way through Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and ended the trip in New York City.
